Yogi,

Unfortunately no foundation/organization can provide a kidney to anyone.
As per the Indian laws only family members and relatives of the patient can donate a kidney. Even that would not be allowed if there is a financial transaction involved. Normally the hospital would explain the rules and process involved, which may include the donor's interview with the authorization committee.

Dear Yogi,

My brother is diagnosed with Kidney Failure,he's just 29yrs.His creatinine level is continously increasing & the only way left temporarily to put him on Dialysis twice a week,& thrice at times. His Creatinine level is not coming below 7-8.

My question is, Is there any way by which the existing Kidney can be revived to normal functioning?Pls help.

Hi Sandip,

Sorry to hear about your brother's condition. I am not a doctor, so please do not take anything I say as word of truth. You should consult a doctor to know more about the specific condition of your brother.

From what I have read, revival of a kidney depends upon what stage of failure it is in. Is the failure Chronic (gets worse over time) or Acute (sudden failure). I think in case of a Chronic Renal failure, it might be possible to get the kidney functioning properly, but fewer chances if its in a late stage.

So ultimately, consult a doctor and take their advice.

Patients looking for kidney donors might also want to contact the MOHAN Foundation.

Apart from this, there is a foundation called TANKER (Tamilnadu kidney Research Foundation), where they treat all kidney related problems free of cost. They even do Dialysis free of cost. Please forward this message and let People utilize this opportunity. It can help people who are in need.

That's a very noble thought. But why publicize on an anonymous forum? I hope that you do know that buying and selling of human organs is a crime in India, and that you are genuinely interested in a "donation". If so, you can always give your information to any public hospital, and they will match a proper receiver. They will ensure that your health is not jeopardized in any way, and that you receive compensation for your full recovery.

The waitlist for receiving a kidney are very long, and you should not have any trouble in finding a receptor through legal means.

My best wishes to you.
