Default Private Gas agency connection

Hi,

I'm looking for a gas connection from private agencies (that do not require ration card). Any pointers and information (cost, quality of service) appreciated.

Nobody requires Ration Card anymore effective from 1-Jun-2007, so better you go for govt agency.

I inquired abt this at HP and BP offices a week back, they are still claiming that they don't know /not heard any such changes. They still insist on having a ration card.

Many such agencies are there. Their service is good but a bit expensive. Overall it seems ok. One such agency is there in JP Nagar - 1st Phase, near the Oxford school/Aurbindo Ashram.

Look for Jyothi Gas , the cost is around 600 Rs per cylinder. Initial cost is around 2000-3000. I don't use this , but since i checked this with a dealer just letting you know.

I inquired about a new gas connection 1 week back at Sheela Agency (Indane) J.P.Nagar and 1 HP agency near K.C. Das in J.P.Nagar. Both places say Ration Card is mandatory for a Subsidized rate Gas Connection. Sheela Agency was offering a Non Subsidized Gas Connection for which he said the initial deposit is 4000 + and each cylinder refill will cost 970/-. The cylinder is slightly bigger in size compared to the normal subsidized cylinder, but still the cost is way too high.

From the information i have so far, its not possible to get a subsidized gas connection without a ration card now.

I took a new LPG gas connection few months ago from Jyothi Gas, BTM. Total charge I paid was around 2300/- which included filled cylinder. 500/- was refundable. Each cylinder refill will cost Rs 550/- for 12 kg and 750/- for 17 kg.

Default Information regarding HP gas cylinder

Is any one using the HP gas cylinder/connection? Could you please give me the registration charges(deposit) and the price of a cylinder. I am planning to take one connection from my home town and then transfer it to Bangalore. Does anyone know approximately how much time will such a transfer take?

It would take only half an hour to complete the formalities if you have transfer voucher done. and next day they would deliver the cylinder(at least for my case it happened). Total charge were around 1550 rs for everything including gas filling except stove.
